Not sure, this is the first I've owned. And it's sharp so it actually cuts through things without you needing to work super hard to do it. I love how easy this makes keeping everything together. So far I've used the thicker spiralizer, two of the grater things, and then the juicer. But mostly I just love that it's very safe to use (it comes with a finger guard!), super easy to figure out, very compact, and even has measurements on the inside of the cup if you're ever portioning things out for a recipe." I LOVE how easy it is to swap out the caps to do other things, too - I've started grating my own cheeses and feel very fancy. The risk of complications and the chances of diabetic comorbidities increase dramatically with poor control of the blood glucose level as reflected by a high HbA 1C value. 10 As a result of these changes in bone metabolism, patients with manifest diabetes have a higher chance of sustaining a more severe ankle fracture along with increased mortality rates. 11 The combination of these pathological conditions results in a significant delay in bone healing in diabetic patients, with reported union times of 163% to 187% when compared with non-diabetic patients. 12 Chronic hyperglycaemia negatively affects the function of immunocompetent cells like fibroblasts and leukocytes leading to significantly increased rates of infection and other complications as compared to non-diabetics. 10- 11 In type I diabetes the missing anabolic effect of insulin and amylin in early stages, and vascular changes in later stages lead to a manifest osteoporosis with increased fracture risk. Clinical and experimental studies have demonstrated a diminished healing capacity of both bone and soft tissues including ligaments in patients with diabetes. This article will discuss current treatment approaches to ankle fractures in elderly patients with specific reference to frequent and relevant comorbidities such as diabetes and osteoporosis.ĭiabetes affects wound and fracture healing on multiple levels. 9 If relevant comorbidities are present, the treatment regimen has to be adapted accordingly. Therefore, in the absence of severe systemic comorbidities, the principal indications for surgery should not differ from those in younger patients. 5- 7 Numerous comparative studies 5, 6, 8 including one prospective-randomised study in patients above 55 years of age 8 found significantly better results after open reduction and internal fixation than after non-operative treatment for displaced malleolar fractures in the elderly. Cast immobilisation for highly unstable ankle fractures (especially the inherently unstable pronation-abduction fractures that are frequently seen in the elderly) leads to malunion or nonunion rates between 48% and 73%. An increasing number of elderly people retain an active lifestyle with high functional demands. 4ĭespite the inherent higher risks in elderly patients, a therapeutic nihilism is unwarranted. 3 Mobilisation of the patients after surgery will be complicated by sarcopaenia, decreased strength, co-ordination and compliance. 2 The soft tissue envelope may be compromised through chronic vascular disease, prolonged steroid medication, and diminished skin turgor leading to open injuries even in low energy fractures. Poor bone quality in osteoporotic and diabetic patients may lead to more complicated fracture patterns and problems with fixation. 1 The patients are predominately women with considerable comorbidities including cardiovascular diseases, obesity, chronic pulmonary diseases and complicated diabetes. Both the incidence and severity of ankle fractures in elderly patients with considerable comorbidity is rising steadily in most European countries. Rendering content twice requires more processing power than it takes to render normal games and experiences. While system requirements vary depending on the specifications of the headset, and how intensive the content you are running, in general, a high-end computer system is required to run the hardware (as of May 2016 this would be PCs powered with at least a GTX 970 or equivalent, with at least i5-4590 equivalent, and 8gm of ram).Ī high-end machine is required in order to render content in the stereoscopic format for use with VR headsets. Mobile HMDs are typically powered by smartphones unless they come with a built-in device. alot of this stuff is just old ammo with a new name (i suspect dynapoints are the old winchester wildcat ammo). with all the big interest in rimfires over the last few years, it seems manufacturers are spitting out all types of HV stuff and you go nuts trying to keep up. it's sort of the Wolf ammo of the HV ammos. I've finally put in stone in my brain to use std vel or "sub sonic" stuff and stopped searching for a HV round through rifles, other than blazer, as it works well. i've tested dynapoints in 22mag (i know apples and oranges) wasn't impressed with it there and figured if the same "quality" was transferred to. Other than just a magazine or two donated to me at the range, nope. Though the standard / match velocity ammos have more drop, they generally stay on course better than HV ammo.Ī few of the best high velocities ammos (at least through my rifles) that seems to handle that transonic barrier the best is Blazer, Fed. The science behind it is when most HV ammo falls below super sonic speed (transsonic barrier) it creates a mini sonic boom that upsets the flight of the bullet causing it to destabilize and veer off course. I've used remington subsonics and got super groups out to about 75 yards, then they went to crap (at least through my setup MKII BV and F), at 100 yards. Probably the best stuff that groups well across many models and makes of rifles is Wolf MT + Extra, along with their SK counterparts.ĬCI CB Long VS. Your standard / match velocity ammos are technically sub sonic (roughly under 1080 pfs) depending on air temp and other environmentals. I see it every month from spring to autumn. If you aren't shooting in competition then the plinking stuff is fine, if you are then the bulk stuff will leave you at the bottom of the pack. If you are serious about accuarcy then buy serious ammo. If you are planning to use ammo at 250yds test it at 250yds, not 50yds and assume that is any indication of how it performs at longer distance. I have seen this anomoly too many times to count. What does great at 50yds will not always be great at 250yds and vice versa. Wolf is pretty good stuff, but the higher end SK and Lapua tends to be a bit better and as well it should, it all comes from the same place with the same headstamp and lube. Most of the guys that I know are shooting Federal 922A, don't be fooled though, this stuff ain't Federal ammo. Generally speaking the more you pay the better it gets.to a point. The high vel bulk pack stuff can settle down again past 100yds but all I have seen tends to be very erratic. I have seen some great groups printed from a bulk pack or two but consistency was horrible. If you are concerned about accuracy then you will not find what you seek in any bulk pack. When it comes to 22 ammo you have to ask yourself what is good enough, only you can answer that question. Tackle the story campaign together and take part in regularly scheduled community challenges.
